Product Description

Product Description

This book is a down-to-earth guide for managers and team leaders. It reveals how to motivate your team, get results and do it in the easiest, least stressful way possible. It's written by Alan Fairweather who did the job of a middle manager - and did it effectively - for fifteen years. He now helps others do it on a daily basis through his seminars and workshops. Alan knows the real challenges that managers and team leaders face every day with their people. He's used the "3 Secrets of Motivation" described in this book. They worked for him and they'll work for you. You'll discover how to: pick the right people and communicate what's expected of them; reduce absence from work, reduce staff turnover and the time spent on resolving staff issues; deal with difficult team members; and, develop a highly motivated team who increase customer satisfaction, boost sales and make a positive contribution to the business.

From the Author

Let's face it, motivating people at work is one of the hardest jobs you can do. And there's no doubt about it; the performance of employees will ultimately be determined by the relationship they have with their manager.
That's why I've written this book; it's a down-to-earth guide for Managers and Team Leaders. It reveals how to motivate your team, get results and do it in the easiest, least stressful way possible.
I did the job of a middle manager over fifteen successful years in Sales and Customer Service. I managed sales people, sales managers, customer service telesales agents and administration staff. I know the real challenges managers and team leaders face every day with their people; and how hard it is to motivate a team.
This book will address the challenge of management, poor morale and absenteeism issues. However it's not about absence management, it's about creating a work environment that makes employees happy to come to work and be more productive while they're there. It will give managers the practical skills and techniques that will increase productivity, reduce costs and make their job less stressful.
I've used the `3 Secrets of Team Motivation' featured in his book, they worked for me and I know they will work for managers and team leaders in all businesses.

Help is here! 7 Oct 2007
By GeeGee
Format:Paperback
At last, the kind of book I've been looking for. I've just recently inherited a demotivated, often sick, team who clearly feel under valued. I myself feel 'thrown in at the deep end' - little training but with the command to 'sort it out'. Thank you for providing practical, easy to undertand guide - now how can I get the Motivation Doctor to come speak to our company?

A very useful insight 13 Oct 2009
Format:Paperback
I've read many business books and I have to say I've enjoyed most of them. This book, however, stands out as one that I would totally recommend to anyone who wants to get the best out of their team and themselves. Practical advice abounds, as does humour. It's very honest about the challenges of work, of leading a team and the snippets of wisdom are priceless. It's written in a very easy to understand language that makes you think 'why didn't I think of that - it's so obvious!' Hopefully it won't be too long before there's a follow up - this is great stuff!
