Product Description

Product Description

Bermondsey Priory, 1114. A young chaplain succumbs to the temptations of the flesh - and suffers a gruesome punishment. From that moment, the monastery is cursed and over the next five hundred years murder and treachery abound within its hallowed walls. A beautiful young bride found dead two days before her wedding. A ghostly figure that warns of impending doom. A plot to depose King Edward II. Mad monks and errant priests ...even the poet Chaucer finds himself drawn into the dark deeds and violent death which pervade this unhappy place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Medieval mania, 23 Aug 2007
By Medievalnut (London, England) - See all my reviews
Fantastic read, best yet!!!! Story flows and links up very well, much improved on sword of shame. Very clever to keep you guessing until the end what has happened in the prologue, can't say more as will give the game away! Take trade paperback on hols with you if you haven't already been.

This book has a serise of who done its, each related to a common theme, it allows a reader to review new authors and also read all friends. I found the book useful in that it has now started me on a new author. The book is set in several periods of history Medieval and civil war in Britain.
It is a start of a set of books with the same authors.
An interesting read.

The idea of four or five authors writing a countinius story is good but one or two of the authors I found dull.
