Product Description

Jazzwise, (Duncan Heining), November 2007

(4 stars) There's some fine rockers here like Etheridge's 'Pump Room' and Andersens's title track. Guitar record of the year!

The Guardian, (John Fordham), November 30, 2007

(4 stars) It's not just for guitar buffs - but a raunchy hook and theme-packed conversation between world-class improvisers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not quite there, 23 Oct 2007

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: In House (Audio CD)
On a good night John Etheridge sounds like he might be the best extant jazz guitarist and the best rock guitarist and I have been waiting for a recording to capture what he does live, those moments when he hits the footpedals and lets rip. His Zappatas record had one or two nice moments and one great solo but didn't hit the spot. This one gets closer. Yes, there are a number of belting rip-it-up solos but there also a lot of doodling. With only bass and drums for company, maybe this is inevitable. But this is the best yet that I know of. And yes, there are moments when he sounds like the best rock and jazz guitarist on the planet.
