Product Description

Comedy legends Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer proudly present their first sitcom--House of Fools.

Starring alongside them in this colourful and crazy series is Matt Berry (The IT Crowd, Toast of London), Morgana Robinson (The Morgana Show), Dan Skinner (Yonderland, The Wrong Mans) and rising star Daniel Simonsen. The show is set in Bob's flat which he reluctantly shares with his Norwegian son Erik (Simonsen), Vic and his wayward brother Bosh (Skinner). They are constantly interrupted and surprised by the antics of saucy neighbour Julie (Robinson) and by the misadventures of Beef (Berry). Packed with special effects and visual treats from start to finish, this series is unmissable.

Just to loosely quote the Guardian review - this is a sitcom as much as Shooting Stars was a panel show. Simply surreal genius - have to watch every episode at least twice. Love the randomness. But - why a year between the show on BBC and the DVD release?....

This has to be the best new sitcom in years, sadly due to 'poor' rating the BBC are rumoured to be cancelling the show. Such a pity as I haven't laughed so much in years.

Fantastic to see Vic and Bob back at their surreal best. Throw in guest turns by the smooth Matt Berry, the loopy Morgana Robinson, Dan Skinner's mental Bosh and Dan Simonsen as Bob's constantly disgusted son and you have a show that screams repeat viewings. Not everyone will enjoy this completely over the top, surrealist comedy but if you're a passing fan of anything Reeves & Mortimer then give it a go, you won't be disappointed. One thing though, why has the Beeb waited almost a year to release this show on dvd? Get it and give your chuckle muscles a good work out.

More comedy gold from Vic and Bob. House of Fools sits right alongside Big Night Out, Smell of Reeves and Mortimer and Shooting Stars as being amongst their best work.
You get exactly what you expect from this pair but that doesn’t make it any less funny in fact at times it’s hilarious!
The supporting cast and the
characters’ they play take this series to another level entirely, in particular Beef (played brilliantly by Matt Berry) who just about manages to steal every scene he’s in. There is so much happening you will have to watch it time and time again just to take it all in. In short it’s brilliant and not to be missed.
Stan and Ollie, Eric and Ernie and Vic and Bob… it doesn’t really get much better!

Very reluctant to not give this 5 stars (as I absolutely love the show), but the DVD itself is not deserving of 5 stars. I pretty much just bought it for the extras, mainly the "outtakes". I was so excited to see clips of the cast messing up or laughing (more than they do in the actual show), and feel misled that there was nothing of the sort on the DVD. The outtakes are an interview with Vic on the set and not what you would usually associate "outtakes" as. It's lovely to see, of course, but not what I was hoping for. So if, like me, you are buying this DVD for the outtakes, please don't get your hopes up too much, because there aren't any!

This is a very welcome return of Vic & Bob to tv.
Every episode is hillarious and I've watched each at least twice. It's absolutely crazy and makes not a lot of real sense which is great if you're a fan of their earlier work or the mighty boosh or similar surreal comedies.

When Vic and Bob had a sitcom. There were plenty of laughs, Bob had a tin bath, get the dvd for £13.50 a go. Well in nearly a year maybe, what's that about eh?

BBC have only themselves to blame for poor ratings -when you look at how a mere BBC3 show such as Uncle can be promoted across the BBC like no-one's business - and you see how little HoF gets promoted, you have to wonder why they are not repeating this a bit.

New shows are now falling victim to iPlayer because the BBC seems more hellbent on promoting THAT than the show itself - therefore it only gets one airing.

Now to the show itself. A great show, let them go mad with it now - let them stockpile it because it deserves to be. Let Vic n Bob go nuts with it, theres such potential. Along with the excellent Matt Berry this show has legs.

But if they do cancel it, then they need to remember that they have forgotten how to advertise men's shows. This kind of entertainment was once upon a time at the forefront of our tellies, during primetime, now it is shunted to Tuesday nights and they expect people to NOTICE it?

Don't get me wrong, as a fan I appreciate them at least being commissioned, but, as ever, the BBC is being confusing with this DVD - January 2015?!

What planet do they live on??
