Product Description

Product Description

From TV’s home staging guru, House Doctor Ann Maurice, this new title offers sure-fire tips for fixing up the house. A complete A–Z guide, the book looks at every imaginable problem and provides solutions for selling, improving – or just de-cluttering your home.

In providing real life case studies with before and after transformations, House Doctor Ann Maurice gives invaluable practical advice on how to best smarten up your property.

The A–Z guide closely follows and discusses topics from ‘Antiques Addiction’ and ‘Dingy Dining Rooms’ to ‘Gorgeous Gardens’ and ‘Kerb Appeal’, giving an alphabetical twist to the all-important quest of creating a house with ‘Va-Va-Voom’. Ultimately, the House Doctor strives to rid a house of its ‘appalling appearance’, thus adding value to the property and ensuring its speedy sale.

Though aimed primarily at people wishing to sell their home, the book also provides plenty of helpful tips for people just looking to improving their property. The House Doctor’s recurring mantra includes the invaluable necessities of:

• depersonalising
• decluttering
• defining spaces
• renovating
• accessorising
• neutralising

From practical decorating advice to step-by-step projects and complete renovations, this A–Z guide is the amusing alphabetical answer to the minor and major problems that home enthusiasts face.

About the Author

Ann Maurice has gained a massive following as Channel 5’s House Doctor, impressing the masses with her ability to transform unsaleable homes into hot properties, and has single-handedly introduced ‘home staging’ to an eager British public. As well as her TV work, she enjoys a flourishing career as an interior designer, but she began her professional life selling real estate for 13 years. Thus she has both the creative flair for decorating makeovers as well as the hardheaded, insider knowledge needed to get a house sold.

Format:Paperback
Although this does contain some of the information from Anne's "Best of House Doctor" book, it also contains added information that proved to be incredibly useful.

I used her tips and tricks and transformed a family member's house into a buyers dream home. She has a gift for neutralizing rooms in such a fashion that they exude relaxation and personality but without OVER personalizing a room. Literally, your home will 'speak' to each buyer so that they can say, "I could absolutely see myself living here."

For a fraction of what the sale price is and oodles of elbow grease you can make your home appeal to a greater number of buyers and even pull in an added profit, as we did
