The good

Graphics are reasonable

The weapons and physics of the game or good (launch a grenade and germans fly through the air)

The Bad

Gameplay is poor, the idea is sound 3 characters = 3 different ways to play, wrong it really doesn't matter who you play as it makes very little difference in the game.

This is not even fun for ww2 addicts, it contains missions which are just stupid, for example the one were you control a sherman and destroy not one but three tiger tanks!!!!

The AI is not great in fact they are a bit stupid shoot, your gun and the guards all come running other times they just stand there and let u shoot them!

The game is buggy and i do mean buggy it can freeze at any point wether you have playing for an hour or 2 minutes.

Multiplayer is poor really poor for example why have sniper rifles when it is impossible to shoot someone at distant due to the blurry effect that the game creates when you look in the distance, but the reason its so poor is that cod 2 or 3 have this game beat in the multiplayer department and HOV doesn't even come close.

Well, despite the reviews on Amazon and the playable demo on XBox Marketplace, I bought it anyway - surely it can't be as bad as all that and I do so love my WWII shooters...
Oh dear, it is that bad - the graphics are pretty pedestrian, the gameplay is clunky at best and it's lacking that certain emotional involement that all decent games seem to have. It's not completely rotten, but it seems to think that cutting wire, climbing ropes or pushing heavy objects (each of which are character dependant) make up for it's shortcomings - they don't and this game deserves to be forgotten very quickly.
It's been consigned to my fading memory already - and I could only be bothered to play the first four or five levels.
Avoid - COD2 or COD3 are far superior products.

Not bad, but not great. I read one review where it was given 2 out of 10, for me that is very harsh. There are some flaws which harm this game. One is the distinct lack of checkpoints. Another is the respawning of enemies, which happens too quickly and can often be seen by the player, which is quite sloppy. Aiming isn't great, and sometimes the crosshair will go it's own way when you want to shoot somewhere else. With the Bren you can't actually see what you're aiming at, which isn't good. And where is the Lee Enfield rifle?!

The gameplay is OK, but not up to the standards of COD2, though not a lot worse than COD3. The AI is a little stupid sometimes, and this is made up for by simply having lots of them! But the guns are good, they sound good and look good. The MP44 is great fun.

I think WW2 fans like myself will like this game, but for everyone else you might want to rent rather than buy.

I was browsing the shop earlier on looking for a GAME to buy. Just something that I hadn't heard of and cheap as I was pretty bored at home. NEVER am I randomly selecting a game again.

I think this game is quite possibly the worst game i've ever played.

First of all the graphics. They are just ridiculous. For a machine as powerful as the 360, you'd expect A LOT better. Stuff looks awful and made me feel embarrassed playing it.

Second of all. The campaign is just shocking. It's extremely short, not fun and just incredibly boring. I don't know what the point in them having 3 characters to play with is when the could of at least made the campaign longer.

I went onto Xbox LIVE to see what it's like. There's absolutely no one on there. Not 1 person. The only people I can imagine playing it are those boosting for achievements.

The actual structure of the missions are pathetic. You can simply just run right through to the next waypoint marker and there you go, next mission/section.

This game is just horrible. It's not fun at all. It's simply one made for those looking for extra achievement points. I feel robbed :(

Hour of Victory isn't what you'd call a next-gen shooter though it irons out every flaw that other games are making, except for the story. The game allows for diverse gameplay options, often removing the linear gameplay that so many people have asked for, and giving some great oppurtunities for sabotage, assassination and brutal kills.

But praise it as I might, my words cannot compare to the hate this game has recieved. It's obvious it's not perfect, but neither is any other FPS game that was made just after the year 2000. Try as you might, you cannot convince me that there is a shooter better than DooM.

Hour of Victory is average despite everything it does (and at least tries to, where other games say "do it or leave it, but it'd be easier to leave it"), and adds a few original ideas we've not seen in video gaming before.

Recommended for under £7.

To be honest as a big fan of fps and ww2 in particular. I would recommend that anyone who plans to buy this game to consider medical help.

It is v pants from the potato headed charater who informs you the germans are comming in the start of the game it just goes down hill.

The historical context of the game is so poor, to the extent that one of the officers that you are reminded you can play with has a corparal rank to the blowing up tigers with a tommy cooker (sherman)

The concept itself feels appealing until it loads up. why can't all three climb ropes they are ment to be the best of the best or something.

To be honest i would rate this game 0 zero stars but unfortunately there is not that option.

spend you pennies on COD 2 or 4 or consider waiting till later in 2008 when some good FPS are ment to be coming out

A definate bargin bucket game
