Hound Music is a little disconcerting for the first half-dozen or so pages because its style is so unusual - but after that the writing sucks you in and grips you. It's a truly marvellous experience to join the world of the Edwardian gentlemen, and an eye-opening one, too: whatever your feelings about hunting, the very least you should do is have access to the facts. So read Hound Music for that alone. But really the magic here lies in the language, which is extraordinary: terse, beautiful and moving. Read now please.

A delicous book for country folk. Beautifully written and full of hunting knowledge.An insite to a past era though hunting in this form we shall never see again (sadly). A good story too but I really wanted to slap Dorothy!
