This is the second album from the fantastically talented Michelle Branch. Her debut, The Spirit Room was amazing, with songs like All You Wanted and Goodbye To You. With this, she sounds more mature. Her songs are more meaningful and based more on real experiences that those on spirit room. She wrote nearly all of the songs, the others she co-wrote with one person, she plays the guitar piano and sings well, better than she did on her first album. These are the tracks:1. Intro - a kinda pontless clown-music type thing that was also on on the Are You Happy Now? Music Video. 2. Are You Happy Now? - A fantastic first single with a great chorus. More rock and angry than any of her others. Play it loud! 10/10 3. Find My Way Back - Another great song with a catchy chorus. quite poppy but great. 9/10 4. Empty Handed - Aother rockier song. Very powerful and my favourite in the album-just. This is also Michelles favourite on the album and she is accompanied by a string orchestra. 5. Tuesday Morning - Catchy, sad song with another grea chorus. 9/10 6. One Of These Days - Slow and my least favourite song on the album. She apparently wrote it in about 10 minutes. 7/10 7. Love Me Like That - A rock/countyish song with a catchy chorus and Sheryl Crow doing the backing vocals. 10/10 8 Desperately - A slower one but, once you get used to it, it gets better. 8/10 9. Breathe - This is going to be the second single and should be number 1! Then again so should of Are You Happy Now? but it didnt do well at all. The Fast Food song comes number 2 and it comes 31...what was that about! Anyway, a great, chill-out, happier, song and one of the best. Sounds great to listen to in the car. 10/10 10. Where Are You Now - Im not as keen on this one, but i got used to it. 8/10 11. Hotel Paper - Once i heard this one more times it became another favourite. It is really powerful, emotional and about michelle spilling her thoughts out - on hotel Paper. She wrote most of her songs on tour, in hotels, hence the albums title. 10/10 12. 'Til I Get Over You - The saddest song on the album with a slow chorus and french backing vocals (i think shes part french). 8.5/10 13. Everywhere. I got the American version of the album which didnt have these two bonus tracks on, but there still great. This was her first single ever with a good, catchy chorus. It was in American pie 2. 10/10 14. Game of Love (with Santana) - This song got her much recognition and has been heard in many countries around the world. 9/10 15. Its You - This isn't a bonus track. Its a short, sad song and a great way to finish the album...if only it werent followed by that wierd intro music. 8/10 Buy this album, it will be one you favourites. Michelle may not get the recognition she deserves over here, but she's a big star in the US and, once you listen to the album, you will know why.
