5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and helpful 11 Jan 2005
Format:Paperback
I am currently supporting a 14 year old boy at the school i teach at. He's in my tutor/form group and he's got a bad reputation. But recently he asked me for help in dealing ith his anger. So i searched good old Amazon and found this book!

I have read lots of theory on this issue but nothing beats this book for putting it into language that kids can understand and practical ideas that they can relate to. The book gives no ready-answers and straight away says that it will be hard work. I know that this book will help my kid realise that he is NORMAL and that he can change for the better. Like all kids, he's a good person at the core and this book is just the vehicle to help him see that himself.

So get this book! It is great for children and adults (parents, teachers, whoever wants to know!). You can tell that Wilde has had many successful years in this area and he is by no means patronising or self-indulgent.

This is a must-read, must buy book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Stuff to Help Kids Chill Out 7 April 2004
Format:Paperback
Although this book is written to be read by the child that has the anger problem, it is full of very useful strategies to be used by a person who is working with a child in this situation. It encourages the child to look at there anger and explore it. Looking at what causes them to become angry and how they could overcome it. I have been able to help a number of children that I work with explore and come to terms with there anger, therefore learning to control it and not allow it to take over their lives. A very useful book for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Stuff Indeed 2 Oct 2002
Format:Paperback
The Doc knows what he's talking about. Even though this book is great for children, the techniques and reasonings work for adults as well. The exercises are simple but effective and the illustrations are to the point.

I have only had the book for one day and the techniques are working already. This book is a must for anyone who deals with children on a daily basis.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for everyone
would appeal to some young people but could be construed as a bit condenscending by some because of its cheesy humour.
