The way they work is 'oh so' simple, yet at the same time 'oh so' clever. Simply click the tiny disc inside the pack and 'voilà' you will have instant heat for around up to 45 minutes. The bits they warm up is up to you. They are a fantastic little gadget which can be used time and time again. To reuse simply heat in boiling water until the crystals have dissolved, leave to cool and click again when ready.

When you crack the disc you set off a small non-toxic chemical reaction which heats the liquid to about 130F in about 5 seconds. Re-use time and time again! To reuse simply heat the hot pack in boiling water until the liquid goes clear, leave to cool and crack when ready- days or even weeks later. Incredibly quick delivery! Products exactly as described and shown on website. Worked very well; i took them skiing and they were perfect. Very easy and simple to re-use (and use), although I would recommend not leaving them in the boiling water for quite as long as it says on the packet....

Ordered two sets of these. They sent one pair but not the second but this was fairly and quickly rectified when brought to attention and another set were sent out.
They work ok but for someone with large hands they could make them in different sizes. Stayed warm for about 40 minutes so ideal after de-icing the car and waiting for trains.
I would recommend them though and it might be an idea to give various sizes.

I actually bought these to use on my ankle, as I have damaged the ligaments, and was advised that heat and stretching exercises would help. So, the hand warmers are perfect to put at either side of my ankle. The heat feels quite intense at first, so I put the warmers on the outside of my sock, and hold them in place with another sock over the top. They stay hot for about 20 mins, and are really easy to use. I have used them about 5 times so far, and I have no complaints.
I'm not sure that they would stay hot enough for a sufficient length of time if they are used for their original intended purpose, especially outside on a cold day, but they're great for what I need them for.
