Now at 42, divorced, celibate, and her two daughters attending college, Sammy's lonely and very badly in need of a man's touch. Just the possibility of seeing John at a family reunion after twenty-four years have passed is a thrilling, wicked temptation that piques her curiosity. She has to put in an appearance, but will she still be too afraid to take a chance on John if she's presented that opportunity?

John always had a thing for Sammy, but having to witness her marry his brother was just too much to handle. The bad boy left town and finally grew up, but he's still a bad boy at heart and the only woman he ever really wanted is no longer tied down by marriage or mothering, so it's time for him to make his move. This time, he's not going to allow Sammy's fears or anyone else's opinions keep them apart.

Tory Richards excels in getting into the hearts and minds of both her hero and heroine and presents both the male and female POV equally well. With gentle humor, she briefly delves into familial disapproval and acceptance, while injecting this spicy read with numerous passionate encounters and a positive message that life and love can be just as promising for the forty-plus crowd as it is for a young couple in the first throes of love. At 34 pages, this is a quick and satisfying read that is sure to please anyone who appreciates a second chance romance.

This was a very short but hot novella. It was only about 34 pages long. I recommend reading reading this if you want a hot short read.

The chemistry between John and Sammy was explosive and the story has a happy ending. The story may be short but it gave you enough of the past of the characters to understand the feelings that have been on simmer for twenty years. At the reunion when John and Sammy first meet up I felt the author wrote this perfectly and I wouldn't have changed anything in there even the awkward discovery by Sammy's daughter.

I have always been a sucker for the bad boy meets good girl type stories and that is what this story is. I will read more by this author. I give the novella 4 stars.
