About the Author

Paul was born in Plymouth and has loved food for as long as he can remember. When he was young Paul sailed around the world with his parents and so was introduced to an array of new and exciting cuisine from a very early age. He has also learnt how to create a meal in a tiny galley kitchen with very few ingredients and equipment. By the time he returned home Paul was hooked, and knew he wanted to work in the world of catering. Paul attended Plymouth catering college where he discovered a natural flair for cooking and as part of the coarse he spent time in a French catering college in the Jura Mountains in France. Paul loved France so much that he stayed there for three years learning about Mediterranean cooking, however Paul wanted to experience all areas of the catering industry this included working as a waiter at the House of Commons (in fact he was there working the night that Margret Thatcher got deposed). When satellite television was launched Paul was headhunted for a position in television food styling and work for a lot of the top chefs preparing the dishes for Here s One I Made Earlier Paul has worked on all the major shopping channels demonstrating pieces of kitchen equipment and cookery demonstrations around the UK, Europe and Australia. Paul is now considered one of the most respected and a popular guest chef presenter on one of the countries top shopping channels and currently has nine cookbooks available. What s For Dinner? There is a shortage of cook books for the Actifry and similar, this one by Paul Brodel is similar in format to his book on Halogen cooking except that it is not ring bound so it does not lie flat.
Although small (67 pages) it does contain 10 recipes for Starters / Accompaniment, 17 recipes for main courses and 4 recipes for deserts. All recipes are copiously illustrated and are simple to follow. Although we have not tried all of the recipes those we have tried worked well with the timings correct so everything was cooked properly. I particularly liked the "Spanish Chorizo with Potato" although this is the only recipe that cannot be cooked entirely in the Actifry as it needs 3 fried eggs.
There are some hints and ideas how to modify recipes to taste. Overall a good book, I would have liked more recipes but good value for money.

Very good book, but not as good as the book you get free with the actifry. So if you are buying an actifry don't bother with this book

I purchased this book as soon as I saw it was available. Having purchased a Tefal Acti-Fry after seeing it advertised on Ideal World and what it could do. I always thought it would be a good idea for the chefs advertising the product to produce a booklet showing how easy it is to make so many different meals using the Acti-Fry.
I would definitely recommend this booklet.

I bought this at the same time I purchased a Philips Airfryer, to be honest there is very little (if anything) in this book that you won't find in the book that came with your machine.
I believe I paid about £7 for this and I now consider it to be £7 wasted.

I bought this book when I bought my Tefal Hot Air Fryer. The Hot Air Fryer is amazing but unfortunately I found the book extremely dissappointing. The free one that came with the Fryer was excellent and in comparison this one was lacking in innovation, was boring and a complete waste of money. Even with just the basic leaflet from the fryer I would have been able to work out how to do more interesting things than are featured in Hot Air Fryer book.Once you understand the basics you can adapt your own recipe collection accordingly. It might be OK for people buying the fryer without a book of recipes included.

The only reason I've only given this 4 stars is that some recipes are much the same as the recipe book that came free with my actifryer. Not a big book but some lovely, simple family friendly recipes. Tried the meatball recipe yesterday and it was delicious,as was the roasted vegetables. Working my way through the recipes and so far they've all came out really tasty.

I would recommend this for beginners to using hot air frying. It shows a good range of recipes and gives confidence for using 'wetter' dishes as opposed to just chips etc. It is probably less useful to those already experienced with this method of cooking, since many standard recipes can be successfully adapted. Not sorry to have spent have the money on it - it has given me confidence to be more adventurous.
