Format:Audio CD
Strangely there has been little recognition made for DJ Tomahawk who put together the mix for this release, which is a shame because they've done a really good job. In fact they've managed to make some really rather mediocre tracks sound passable, at least for a couple of listens anyway.
I've not always been a fan of the Hospital records sound. The Techno elements and the over inflated effects accompanying the basslines (like Camo & Krooked) and sometimes it all just sounds a bit watered down for true Drum & Bass music. So I'm not really the best judge for this album, but then I think it would be fair to say that there are some quite obscure tunes on here and others that are just rather bland.
I'm a little thrown by the previous reviewer summing up tracks as Dubstep. They're all running in the 170bpm region, but many have a 2 step beat which is maybe what they're speaking of. Also with the popularity of Dubstep right now, perhaps some of these tracks are influenced...
There are some great tunes and the DJ has done well to hype it up and blend the good with the dull (& obscure), but I think I'll soon find myself skipping to the tracks I really like and ignore the rest.

Was well up for this when I heard it was announced, having been a massive drum n bass and hospital records fan for a number of years. However, I was slightly disappointed when I heard this, the first few tracks and a few in between are FAR too dubsteppy for me. I dont know what Hospital Records is trying to accomplish by doing this to be honest, I understand dubstep is kind of replacing dnb but I buy a dnb album for dnb NOT dubstep, and quite a few of the tracks are similar sounding, a few stand out, such as the Nu:Tone remix of Ms Dynamites Neva Soft, and Blu Mar Ten - Problem Child, but if I had heard it before, I wouldnt have brought this. 1 of the weakest albums in the collection and not a patch on last years outstanding 2011 mix. Buy if youre a fan of hard/jump up dnb, but for liquid fans like myself, its probably best left on the shelf.

I really enjoyed this CD having recently been to a Hospitality event. It's a great mix of different styles of drum and bass. It's a bargain

Great mixing, ok album
I've always loved the liquid Hospital Records sound, but this one doesn't do it for me. The mixing is excellent, yet the overall album is, to my ears, a bit hard going. Read more

Good not 5stars but need to even it out !
I am more of a fan of the liquid genre, there were a few songs on this mix that I wasn't as impressed by, a little bit to heavy for my ageing ears. Read more
