Got this for a present for my mum after her 20 year old onion chopper that she had picked up at a carboot finaly gave in. She didn't think that she she would ever find another one tough enough to survive her kitchin, and when I was looking around for one for mothers day, I saw that all the onion choppers were made of cheap plastic and did not look very durable. Then I found this which is made of stainless steel, so I brought it. When it arrived and I gave it to her, she tried it on some nuts. In about 3 seconds they were finely chopped. The blades are very sharp and it is easy to take apart and wash up. It can also it seems power through just about anything, we tried it with half an onion and it was in nicely chopped pieces in seconds, plus the integrated chopping board comes in very usefukl in containing the pieces.
I highly reccomend this item over any of the other onion choppers and would call it an essential piece of kit for any kitchin for the price, especially for students, plus it has a lifetime guarantee on the stainless steel.

Rather disappointing - the half an onion I tried got stuck and I had to pull it out manually, same as the 2nd and third. In the end I gave up and reverted to the old fashioned "knife" method. I experimented with some nuts, that was much more successful, but I didn't want a nut chopper. In the past I used the "Alligator" chopper, this works better. However, that one is made of plastic, and the hinge on the receptical tends to break after a few months. I finally decided on buying a knife sharpener.

I bought this because I have Tedonitis in my right wrist which makes it difficult for me to chop things. It works a treat and chops well. The only issue I have is it gets stuck sometimes, which is annoying, so I have to get something to take the onion / vegetable out of the blades to free it up. Overall I think its a brilliant idea and works for me. I also bought 2 more for my mother & mother in law as mothers day presents. So i do love it....

Useless accessory
After it mashed the onion in the bottom of the cutter I threw the chopper out in the garden. Will never use it again. My husband with a knife is much better.

Better than some others
This is definitely better than chopping by hand, but has a tendency to stick often, unless you cut the pieces quite small to start with.
