This book is 768 pages long and contains a few adverts at the front and back.
The main body of the book is an A-Z list of trainers with useful information for people within the trade such as 'phone numbers. It also lists the colour and gender of the horse although this isn't explained- you have to know that b g means Bay gelding. The horse's age, dam and sire are also given.
Other than that there is no information about the horse- if you want it's record then try other Raceform books.
The back of the book lists horse sales (many as yet have no name) as well as lots of historical information, such as who won the various big races.
It also provides information about all the horses who have sired a winner listed in the book, although it doesn't say WHICH horses they sired. I think the idea here is that if you like the look of a horse you can check the record of its sire.
The book then finishes with a list of jockeys and telephone numbers.
I would say that this book is aimed at people within the trade. It is a directory, not a strategy guide.
Unfortunatly this book isn't complete. Some yards are not mentioned, such as the Grimsby Coupland yard who own "Spa Lane," a ten year old. This horse won at Pontefract, but I could find no record of it in this book. Also many of the two year olds as yet havn't been named at the time of print.
If you are looking for "hot tips" on horse the success rate of a horse or yard, then try elsewhere. If you want an objective almanac of British horses by yard then this is useful.
