More About the Author

My name is Alan Toner and I am a successful writer of ghost and paranormal stories, both fact and fiction. I have published volumes 1-5 of my True Ghost Stories Kindle books on Amazon. I have also published my short story collections, HORROR STORIES and HORROR STORIES 2, there. In addition to writing Kindle books, I have also published many articles on the Ezinearticles.com site, and have had some of my short stories published in various magazines and books.

In addition to writing, I also run the hugely popular True Ghost Stories site at www.trueghoststories.co.uk. In 2008, my site attracted the attention of the popular paranormal TV show, Most Haunted, which led to my appearing on the programme talking about my work.

I am currently working on a horror novel, which I hope to publish on both Amazon Kindle and Createspace.

My official website, Wirral Writer.co.uk, is at www.wirralwriter.co.uk.

You can contact me at my site if you have any comments, messages etc. you would like to send. I am always very interested in hearing from my readers and reading their comments on my work.

This is a collection of horror themed short stories, most of them follow familiar themes, although the author does bring an unusual angle to most of them. They are a bit of a mixed bag, they're all readable although only a few really stand out as something special. The ones that worked best for me was the opening tale set in a wax museum, the story wasn't particularly novel, but it was well written and contained some decent horror moments.

The story with the mouse terrorising an old women was another excellent story from this collection, this was a more interesting idea that I thought was quite novel. The writing throughout is solid, although at times it did feel like someone telling a story rather than being inside the story. That's only a minor issue though, for fans of horror this is well worth a read.

HASH(0x956f57bc) out of 5 stars Wonderful treat to read........... 26 April 2013

A nice breath of fresh air to actually read good story lines that are written very well. The author's writing reminds me of Stephen King ( before his accident) a little bit of Koontz with a splash of Twilight Zone thrown in. Suspenseful. You can actually envision each character and what is going on throughout the stories. There have been a few moments where you catch yourself sort of holding your breath until you find out what happens next. After reading quite a few so called horror stories ( true an fictional) from other writer's, reading this book was a true treat. I, for one, will be on the lookout for more from this author.
