I have never understood why so many RHS fans do not like Shock Treatment. These days it seems even ROB is embarrassed by it.
I think it's equal to RHS in its brilliance.
The music: The music is easily as good as RHS. In fact it is debatably better than RHS' music.
The lyrics, the clever use of language, the homages, the pastiches, the loving affection for previous decades' music, tv and cinema, it's all right there the same as RHS.
The only thing that's different is that ST doesn't have Tim Curry, and the "everyone is in their sexy underwear" vibe.
I really therefore think that RHS who don't like ST only really liked RHS for the naughty sexiness of it, because everything else that made RHS what it was is right there in ST. It really is.
