"A solidly made low budget modern horror with obvious 80s influences. No bad thing. Most of the film involves the protagonist hanging out in her high slung jeans with an 80s score playing in the background. And even though 'nothing is happening' the movie seems to effortlessly build a sense of intense foreboding that isn't entirely ruined by the clichéd ending."
"There should be a term for that feeling in a movie when the protagonist makes such a fatal mistake that it makes the film unforgivable. I think it is called bad writing. This is a good example of a film that really only had one idea, and it delivers that idea with the first five minutes (and lives briefly up to its title) then things go downhill."
"I just don't understand it. Why did they feel the need to do this? It takes the original takes everything that was good about it, removes it and gives us this? A humourless movie, with unlikeable characters, a crappy nonsensical plot and poor dialogue."
"Pleasing combination of road movie, post apocalypse genre and vampires, with some major issues. Personally I like vampire and zombie movies, but the vamps in this movie are a little too much like the fast zombies in 28 Days Later. There are no good performances in this film and the films stupid voice over and straining for poignancy are very cloying."
"A flawed classic. I think the most likeable thing about the movie is the sense throughout how hard the director and the special effects people are trying with such a limited budget. They do a marvellous job."
"Watch this every time it is on. Some problems, why exactly does Crawford use Starling? That aside this is one of the best examples of a thriller with aspects of horror, and is worth the entry price to see Hopkins' performance alone."
"Not as good as the first, with some joke plot work, but overall a competently made Horror/fantasy movie that will please fas of the first. The production is quite slick also, in a sort of seen it all before kind of way."
"As this second series is the best single zombie based media I have ever seen. This show received a needed cash injection that improved the dialogue, plotting and effects (especially effects) to the nth degree. Compelling (if slightly dim from the off). It's no Breaking Bad though."
