Great. I thought I knew something about horror films, but the author's a real expert - the book's packed with behind-the-scenes information that was completely fresh to me. He covers all the classics - Psycho, Halloween, Rosemary's Baby, Exorcist - and I found out something I didn't know about each of them.
The best bit for me, though, was the critical analysis of each film. It really gave a sense of the way horror movies have grown and changed and also of how they've fitted into more mainstream culture. Anyone who doubts that horror can be art definitely ought to read this.
Highly recommended - one of the best books on horror movies I've read.
