"Mixed bag. The first is an out-and-out scare-fest similar in feel to Texas-Chainsaw, whereas 2 is a higher budget remake of sorts adding a wicked slice of dark humour. 3 is played for laughs but fun."
"Following on from the first film, this is more gory and sudden. Not as much of a classic but definitely scarier then the original. The chase through the hospital will have u gnawing off your knuckles!"
"It's true that King's early books are his best, & De Palma makes full use of his young cast to bring out themes of puberty and self-discovery before everything comes crashing down in flames at the end"
"Though Hannibal and Red Dragon are more polished, this first film retains a rough edginess which succeeds where the others fail in making your skin crawl. Hopkins is awsome. A well-deserved Oscar win."
