Beware - rehashed material.,

This review is from: Horrid Henry's Wicked Ways (Horrid Henry Compilation) (Hardcover)
Two things to say about this collection: firstly, be very careful that the recipient hasn't already got other HH books containing these stories. Turns out my 7-year old lad had all but one of them! Bit cheap to resurrect stories in this kind of 'greatest hits' publication, particularly since some fans will buy automatically when a new edition is released. That said, it is a beautiful hardback volume with colour illustrations - a distinct improvement on the original paperbacks. And if you've not come across Henry before, this is an excellent introduction. So - 5 out of 5 for content, less one for the fact that it's basically a rehash.

Too much old material,
This review is from: Horrid Henry's Wicked Ways (Horrid Henry Compilation) (Paperback)
My kids love Horrid Henry stories but this, as so many other recent editions, depends far too much on rehashed material. Frankly, I think this is a rip off. In the absence of much clearer indications from publishers it is extremely unfair to keep re-releasing volumes that consist mostly of previously published work.
