My 16 year old daughter was off school and put on CBBC, why are you watching that? I said, are you not a bit old of that channel? I said, I want to watch Horrible Histories,its just so funny she said, I knew about these as my younger kids had the books which are incredibly funny, but knowing what utter crap passes for kids tv these days I was a little dubious to say the least so out of sheer curiosity I sat and watched an episode to see what she was raving about, I have never laughed so much in a long while, its brilliant, it works on so many levels, little kids love it for the educational value it offers, teenagers love it because it is funny and entertaining and in my daughters case to drool over some of the actors in it...she is going to kill me for that!) and it works for adults on a different level the simply genius levels of comedy which have an almost Python feel to them, and there is another level of humour in there which goes totally over kids heads but adults get it straight way - especially in some of the songs, if you have not seen them, you have not lived, I bought series 1 & 2 and will definately be getting series 3, I cannot recommend this highly enough, for kids as an educational tool which will teach them in an entertaining way, and for adults just to have a damn good laugh!!

I loved the books but this is a whole new level. It's hilarious yet educational, some really good acting. My favourite sketch by far is stupid deaths. Great show. No matter what age you are, buy the other two DVDs too! Worth it!

This show is brilliant. I'm 23 and I love watching this show, it has appeal for all ages and is just plain funny. Get it for your kids to help with school but enjoy laughing your head off while you watch it too. There are songs, mock commercials e.g. 'We buy any monk!' It is so great I cannot even describe it. BUY THIS DVD!!!

Great value, great entertainment
