Product Description

Product Description

It's a world where everything seems pretty normal. But the weird, the sinister and the truly terrifying are lurking just out of sight. Like an ordinary-looking camera with evil powers, a bus ride home that turns into your worst nightmare, and a mysterious computer game that nobody would play...if they knew the rules! Each story has a shocking sting in its tale...

About the Author

Anthony Horowitz was brought up on horror stories and his childhood love of all things sinister and scary has stayed with him. He says, "I think everyone enjoys horror. Not necessarily dead bodies and dripping blood, but the shadows that lie just outside our vision, the secrets behind closed doors."
Anthony is the author of many very successful children's books, most notably the Alex Rider series, the most recent of which Stormseeker achieved the No 1 spot in the Neilsen charts. Anthony is also well known as a television screen writer with credits that include Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Chiller, and Foyle's War.
Anthony has two grown up sons, and lives in east London with his wife.

Good creepy stories 18 Feb 2009
Format:Paperback
Creepy, fun, easy to read stories. It targets young adults but if you enjoy poirot and midsummer murders then you will enjoy it whatever age.
I read this book within a week and now i have brought Horowitz Horror 2 -
Very Good.

Anthony Horowitz has the gift of pitching his stories perfectly for his audience. He writes in a style that is engaging, enthralling and not overly complicated. My 10 year old son has read this book cover to cover... a rarity for him...and can't get enough of it. The chilling tales dip and weave and each and every one leaves you hanging from a cliff wondering whether the ground is 1 or 100 feet below you.

Horribly good 16 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
This is a book of horror stories for teenage kids. As a reader of horror that statement should chill me to the bone. Kids horror = dull.
Well not in this case. Horowitz know which buttons to push and while he doesn't pull all the horrific punches there's nothing graphic in these stories. They're just creepy and they stay in the mind long after you've closed the cover. My son (for whom I bought this) loved it.
