4.0 out of 5 stars Good Beginners Basic Guide, 17 Jan 2006

This is not for experienced modellers. This aimed expressly for those, like myself, just starting out with the hobby.

It explains the basic requirements from choosing a suitable base board to wiring your layout and building scenery.

From my point of view the only let down is that it does not mention DCC control. This is the way of the future and requires less wiring but, as Hornby are not entering the DCC market until September '06, it does not get a menton.

Otherwise this is great for getting you started on an exciting, rewarding but time consuming hobby.
