    a reasonably good representation of Toby as seen on Thomas the Tank Engine. Looks right and runs well. Toby is one of our favourite engines even if he does look like a garden shed on wheels! Compared to some of the other Hornby "Thomas" range, this is a bargain.

    Toby the Tram is, as with Rev. Awdry's books, based on a prototype from Wisbech, Cambs. The model is very basic, with "windows" painted solid black. Most detail is painted, so very robust indeed. Gearing is appropriate to enable control at lower speeds. Toby is fairly good value, especially if further discounts from the RRP are available.
