In 1984 Thomas & Friends appeared for the first time on British television and made an immediate hit, becoming without argument an even greater favourite with the younger fan. The Hornby range includes many of Thomas' friends including Percy, Toby, Gordon, Spencer and many more. Percy is a small green engine with the number 6 and beautiful detail he looks great steaming along the rails! He is a wonderful addition to the Thomas and Friends Hornby collection! Percy is not based on any specific prototype, so Hornby's model is not based on any of their previous models. With limited detail, this is a robust model. The motor is terribly highly geared, so Percy flies round the track at about 200mph, with no slow speed control, making starting, stopping and shunting rather abrupt. Percy is very cheap and easily available, so if you can get any discount, is very good value.

Percy is well made and runs very well. It has worn well and not given any trouble.
Note that this one is not DCC ready but it should not be too difficult to fit a chip if necessary. It is an accurate representation of the "real" Percy and looks the part. The loco is fully compatible with all other Hornby products and so can be used with dad's train set if necessary!
