There are two holes that you're supposed to push the contact wires in, they don't fit particularly well and I couldn't get a contact made.

Plastic is the sort of material they make Christmas Cracker novelty toys from.

My purchase is now sitting at the bottom of the bin in the kitchen, so All in all I wouldn't bother.

Buy PICO switch instead. Far better quality for the same price.

The switch mechanism is not of the quality they used to be. A shame and I will consider alternatives when I electrify the points.

This item is well up to Hornby's high standard and worked first time when connected up. I have a number of these switches on my model railway some dating from Tri-ang days, in black, green and yellow, and they have always given good service.

Flimsy in the extreme. I expect the angled holding lip, which holds the lever against the spring, will wear round very quickly.
Very expensive too for what it is.
