Product Description

Synopsis

The body of a young Russian girl is found in woods near York in midsummer - but she's not just dead, she's frozen. DCI George Hennessey knows that the killer is local - any time in transit would have affected the body's temperature. All he has to do now is find out why a naive young exchange student became the target of a callous murderer. The girl's background yields nothing sinister at first: in fact no one seems to know her. But Hennessey is sure they are lying. Armed only with two obscure leads, and aided by forensic pathologist Louise D'Acre and fellow CID officer Yellich, Hennessey is determined to catch the killer.

Nothing changes... 25 Mar 2005
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Yet again the same old stuff from Peter Turnbull: the characters who never develop beyond solid cardboard, the set-pieces (Hennessey at home, Yellich and his family, Hennessey's brother's motorcycle crash, and so on) that never vary one iota, the wooden dialogue, the all-too-spottable twist in the plot...and yet I keep on reading them. Don't know why, but there it is. If only he'd try a bit harder I can't help feeling he could do so much better, but he churns them out in the same old mechanical way. Pity.
