Excellent book, which analyses UK church attendance statistics (especially C of E from 1989-1998) to go beneath the overall figure of decline. Jackson points out that one in five churches is either static or growing; that small churches are more likely to be growing than large ones; that growth can be found across all styles of churchmanship; ethnically mixed churches are more likely to grow; children & youth workers have a major impact on attendance; that growth is most likely when the incumbent has served between seven and thirteen years and when the incumbent is younger. Jackson offers practical suggestions to encourage all congregations to face and tackle the issue of decline.Richard Seel.

This is an amazing book and brings hope to those of us that are part ofthe struggling third of the Church worldwide. It gives facts and figuresbut then practical help and solutions. We have applied some of thesolutions to our Parish and have seen growth both numerically andspiritually. Our congregation has also grown younger applying theprincipals behind the book.

This is a good book which is very helpful in identifying weaknesses in Churches in the Anglican Church. It looks at statistics and analyses why some churches grow while others don't.
