Hoover Dust Manager Evo GreenRay DME7133 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Energy efficient vacuum cleaners
Energy-efficient vacuum cleaners
GreenRay: Get outstanding cleaning results using half the energy

GreenRay is a range of high performance, low energy usage models that suck up everything except energy. With powerful motors and a highly efficient air path design, GreenRay vacuum cleaners deliver outstanding cleaning performance whilst using up to half the electricity of high wattage traditional cleaners*.

Dust Manager Evo GreenRay features Hoover's most advanced multi-cyclonic dust separation technology, Airvolution. This patented and innovative system creates massive g-forces to keep dust away from the filters. By keeping the filters cleaner, the suction remains consistent and doesn't decrease as the bin fills, so you get 100% suction, 100% of the time.

Low filter maintenance

There's no getting away from the fact that every vacuum cleaner has filters and every filter needs cleaning. Finding a vacuum cleaner which offers you the lowest possible filter maintenance, will save you time and keep one chore off your ‘to-do' list for longer.

Dust Manager's advanced Airvolution dust separation technology means the vast majority of dust doesn't hit the filters, so they don't clog so quickly and therefore don't need cleaning as often as conventional bagless vacuum cleaners. In fact, you'll get months of care-free cleaning with Dust Manager Evo GreenRay. What's more, with washable filters, you can also avoid expensive filter replacement costs and be even more environmentally friendly.

Full stair cleaning
Extra long cable and hose for full length cleaning
Long reach hose and lead

To make cleaning even easier, the Dust Manager Evo GreenRay range of energy-efficient vacuum cleaners offers 4.4 m of hose reach, which is more than enough to clean a standard staircase flight of 13 steps. Combined with more than 8 m of cord, you'll have a reach exceeding 13 m, which is perfect for vacuuming large homes.

Great for asthma and allergy sufferers

Double HEPA filtration makes Dust Manager Evo GreenRay energy-efficient upright bagless vacuum cleaners ideal for allergy sufferers. The twin HEPA filters catch and trap small pollutants and particles, such as pollen and dust mite faeces, which would otherwise be recirculated into the air and potentially trigger symptoms.

Convenient storage
Convenient storage of vacuum cleaner and its tools
Space-saving storage with tools on board

If, like many of us, you don't have much storage space in your home, every inch saved makes a big difference. With Dust Manager Evo GreenRay's unique Handle Park, you'll be able to detach the handle to reduce the height of the vacuum cleaner by 30 cm.

As well as being suitable for all floors, Xarion GreenRay energy efficient vacuum cleaners come with 3 on-board tools--a dusting brush, furniture nozzle and crevice tool--so you can clean every nook and cranny. They also come with a pet hair turbo brush that gives you concentrated power to remove ingrained hair from carpets and upholstery, and a wood and laminate floor tool that effectively lifts dust and dirt without scratching the surface.

Free 5 year parts and labour warranty

All GreenRay vacuum cleaners come with a free 5 year parts and labour warranty, so you can have full peace of mind that you'll have many years of use from your new vacuum cleaner.

I wonder how many reviews start "I used to have a Dyson..."? Well, I did, and also had a Panasonic, a Hotpoint, another Hoover, and a VAX. And now, well, I have one of these.

My vacuum requirements were for an upright, bagless, with a facility to vacuum stairs. Looking at all the major manufacturers, it seemed that they were pretty much all the same, albeit differing in price , motor power, and colour. So, why go for this model over any other? Well, how about that 5 year guarantee. Having had so many vacuums that failed in the past, a nice long warranty was very tempting.

Does it do the job? Yes, it certainly does. One trip around the house nearly filled up the dust chamber, so it's pretty obvious my previous vacuum wasn't doing much of a job. Oh, and the 'lance' attachment did the stairs just fine, all 13 steps worth, with no apparent strain on the hose, and the machine not tipping over.

So, why only 4 stars? The noise. Oh, it's noisy. Very noisy. If you live in a flat, or semi-detached house, this is not a vacuum to use in the early hours, or late at night. Your neighbours would not be happy. Also, it's not the easiest to guide around, but I was getting used to that by the end of my session.

I had intended writing a long detailed review, but decided that it's just a vacuum cleaner, and all the facts are easily available on any number of websites, so I should just provide an opinion of it in use, and whether it is value for money.

In conclusion, if you don't mind a bit (a lot) of noise, you should buy this vacuum for the price, the fact it 'does the job', and that nice warranty.

My husband asked me how the new hoover was when I was trying it out, and I said "it sucks!!" but I didn't mean that how it sounds :) It has a great suction, you can change the setting for different types of floor and even types of carpet, and it is easy to put together and use. The hosey bit is nice and long so you can do a normal sized staircase in one go, and it has a reasonably long electrical cord too. My only complaints are: there is a turbo attachment which there is a little space for below the handle, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't clip into place only sits there, so when you start to use the hoover it falls off. I am used to attachments clipping in place. Also, it is very noisy, especially on hard floors. Finally, the cord wrappy thing doesn't move - other uprights I've used have a twisty bit so you can slide the coiled cord off when you want to use it. But these are minor niggles, overall a great product.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
As a single man living in a medium-sized flat with his little black cat, Button, I've previously managed to do with a small, hand held vacuum cleaner delivering 1300W worth of suction power. And I must inform you that my flat (or at least the two rooms I can get into) gets a damned good vacuuming once a month - whether it needs it or not!

Now this large machine has entered my life. First thoughts were: `this is a big, impressive, substantial, sexy piece of kit'. (Q: Is it possible to describe a vacuum cleaner as sexy? Perhaps I've been without a woman for too long.)

Hoover are making quite a few claims for their cleaner; namely that it delivers 2300W worth of suction power but uses the energy equivalent of only half that amount, making it highly efficient - saving both energy and money. They've even gone all literal and given it a lovely green (and silver) finish as if to underline its green credentials.

I lack the lab equipment to test their claim, so I'll have to take their word for it. Certainly I found the performance to be astonishing: using the `Intensive Clean' setting I ran it over my sitting room carpet and was amazed at the amount of dust that had accumulated in the transparent cylinder at the back. I have to point out that to my (slightly myopic) eyes the carpet looked completely clean before use. In addition to the above, there are also three further settings for short/hard floor, medium and luxury carpets.

Despite the size I found it very manoeuvrable, with an ultra-long power cable and hose. This is certainly up to the job of cleaning a large house, although I lack said building to push it to its limits. It's also bagless, which means even further savings in the long-term.

Early days but seems to be well built which was my major worry and the handle is substantially held in place with good clip in design.. I thought of push pulling and it coming apart! but so far very good. First sweep around a pet laden room, not hoovered for a month because my old cylinder had bitten the dust and I was not sure what to purchase, proved to be enlightening with masses of filth in the container.. Then instant removal with one click and I could do all the difficult little places with the built in lance/handle that seems to stretch on for ever, 4m, yes really! I hate dust escaping and it seems to keep most of it in and beat the carpet very well and I think i`m very pleased so go on guys give it a try.. Its impressed me and thats not easy to do 4.5/5
