Format:Audio CD
This is one of those rare albums that engage you from the first track and doesn't drop the level all the way through.Its my first of his cds, so I know little about the guy. Came to my attention doing an excellent contribution to the Alejandro Escoveda tribute and is also on the Uncut Exile compilation. The Escoveda one is the clearest connection. Personal songs, varying in style greatly, some lovely Ry Cooder- like slide at times-voice somwhere in between the two.Fantastic version of Wait's Down in the Hole -blows anything on the Wire soundtrack away. The band are tight-only Jim Keltner on drums is familiar to me.
Judging by the photo JDG is no oil painting but this album certainly is. A brilliant surprise and he just made my must see live list at first crack-few have made such an immediate impression.

Gets better every time I hear it!

I saw Jon Dee Graham when he opened for John Hiatt in July. I had never heard of him before, and wasn't expecting much, but I was seriously impressed when I heard him play. He is fantastic live, and his CD is just as good. I listen to this disc all the time, and I like it more every time I hear it.

It has been long since I was last unconditionally knocked-out by the very first spin of a record, but this was it. Give a listen to the first cut, One Moment (which is offered as a free mp3 sample here), and if you like the first guitar riff, rest assured that quality lasts all through the disk till the last track. A must buy for every rock fan.

I've been seeing Jon Dee Graham for the past couple of years as he makes his travles to San Antonio's Casbeers. Terriffic Musicianship on this one. After attending the record release party for this Album, It appears is getting back to his punk roots a little more on this one making it a the most driving solo yet from Jon Dee Graham.
