Whenever people go on about the 'good old days' I always refer them to this book. Seems like all our 'modern' problems existed from the dawn of civilisation.
Evidently the 'good old days' are any years before what the majority of the population can remember back to.
Probably the last book to be promoted by the popular press.

thought we were the first generation to be plagued by youth crime? Think football hooligans are something that started with the premiership? then think again.
this is a lively, interesting and informative read which highlights the history of the perception of youth disorder in Britain.
This makes light reading for those studying society, criminal justice etc. yet it is full of useful dates, quotes and can invoke lively discussions if used in groupwork.
