If you've heard 'The Healer' you'll be familiar with John Lee's ability to dominate a session
by sheer elemental force of personality.
Here however is a much more vital set of recordings of a man and a band in their primes,
clearly having fun.
John Lee really took to Alan Wilson and you can hear why.
On piano, harp and guitar he shines much brighter, even than the fabulously perverse Henry Vestine.
The recorded sound is of its day, simple and direct.
All too often these things turn out to be less than the sum of their parts.
This is not one of those, its a wonderful moment in time.
