Book Description

Everyone has secrets that define them, a past that has shaped them, and a game they play - whether they know it or not.

Despite the fact they live next door to each other, Kade and Raya have never made an effort to speak, until a wild party, four frat boys, and... a bulldozer.

Sterling Shore was supposed to be a new start for eighteen-year-old Raya Capperton. Everything was working out perfectly until her two roommates were expelled for a prank, leaving Raya with the house she couldn't afford on her own. Fate intervenes before she has the chance to find a new home, but she struggles to decide if it's divine luck or the devil's cruel sense of humor.

Twenty-one-year-old Kade Colton has his life planned out, and everything he does is an elaborate game to aid him with his future endeavors. Coming from money has made Kade's life easy, but he wants to build his own name - his own future. The thing he doesn't realize... when you only put forth superficial effort, you only acquire superficial friends.

Raya is torn between being amused or disturbed by Kade and his philosophy, but the drive behind his determination isn't what Raya expected. Little by little, her hatred fades and is replaced by emotions she never would have believed she could have for the rich jerk she desperately doesn't want to care about. Too bad you can't force yourself not to care.

The problem is... Kade's shiny name can't be tarnished, and Raya has a jaded tie she can't cut loose. Nothing about them can work, nothing about them makes sense, but nothing can seem to stop them from trying.

*Not suitable for anyone under the age of eighteen

Hooked On The Game......I was 'Hooked' on this book ;-)
The story was brill, trailer park girl falls for rich boy! Rich boy falls for poor girl! I liked how they got thrown together by Kade's dad aswell. And it wasnt insta-love! There was a build up which I liked.
Loved the characters, Raya was witty and had me laughing at some things she came out with. I actually liked her conman Dad too! Kade was omg soooo yummy, ❤ he couldnt do no wrong in my eyes.
I struggled to put this book down other than to do the, sleep, you get the rest lol. The story flowed from one sentence to the next, there wasnt a dull moment. Brilliant uncomplicated easy read (although I didnt see the con coming ;-) ) that I really enjoyed :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! 27 Feb. 2015

Oh wow! Great book! Loved it!

Raya is a hardworking scholarship student with a shady past. She lives next door to Kade, who's a rich, entitled jerk.

Kade is monied, handsome and popular and loves to party. The two never speak.

However, a serious incident during one of his parties results in Raya having to move in with Kade, and she finds out that Kade is nothing like his public persona.

What begins as a hate-hate relationship evolves into something more. Kade and Raya are fantastic together! I love their chemistry and how Kade slowly reveals his true colours and gets past Raya's protective walls.

This was a really great read - I could barely put it down! Just picked up the Sterling Store boxset to read more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read 28 May 2014

I have enjoyed this authors Deadly Beauties Series and like her writing style. I'm not a great fan of paranormals so was pleased when I saw she had written this contemporary series.

There was a great build up to Kade and Raya's romance and I enjoy stories like that as I'm not a fan of insta love. The pacing of their romance was spot on. The love scenes are well written but nothing too graphic. I really liked both Kade and Raya but I was left wondering why Kade has kept himself remote from his family (apart from his Grandfather) when they seemed so lovely. That was a bit puzzling but there is apparently a book to come from Kade's POV so maybe it will be explained more in that.

The book flowed really well until towards the end when I thought more could have been made of the fall out between Kade and Raya. I was expecting a big argument but it just sort of petered out and then jumps to a fortnight later where things seem to have moved along quickly with concern to Raya's Dad and it almost felt like I had missed a chapter out?

I felt it became a bit far fetched towards the end but then I enjoyed that we got to see Kade fight for Raya. All in all, this was an enjoyable read and a nice romance. I definitely like the way this author writes.

Some good characters were introduced and I'm looking forward to reading their stories in the series. It's Tag next and that one sounds good!

This is the story of Raya her love for kade Calton who comes from a wealthy family and Rayas was in prison after being caught as a con man. There was a party at Kade house next doors to Rayas home four of the drunken boys from the party decided to climb into the cab of a large bulldozer which was parked in the field directly behind the houses. Raya was taking a shower when the house begins to shake the boys had crashed into her house. They where taken to court and Kade Father decides that Raya should move in to kade house he said that Kade had to obay every Raya asked him to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good read 30 Dec. 2014

The book is easily readable and the story line good after the improbable start. In fact it moved quickly in to a scenario where the leading female role, Raya, moved into the hot next door neighbours house. Of course she did not like him initially but emotions soon turned around. I like the way her background of coming from a con artists family was weaved into the story as well. The saucy bits are well done without resorting to explicit descriptions which gives more of a romantic feel to the story. It has made me want to read the rest of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 Consider Me Hooked Stars 7 Jun. 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was expecting a sweet, light romantic read with this book and I got that. I also got some intriguing twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Raya went from being a lonely figure with quite the chip on her shoulder to a different person entirely! I loved it, it's great when a character develops and surprises you. This story definitely took a turn I did not see coming. And as for our hero Kade....well hellloooo Mr yummy and all round perfect book boyfriend. I'm reading his pov next. Good book which has me very interested in the series.
