Read lots of reviews and sadly took a long time deciding on a guidebook to take to Hong Kong - in the end I settled on this and the the DK Top 10 (my partner then bought the Time Out) - guidebook overload. We found this and the TO guide really useful and whilst there was a fair anount of overlap were good complimentary guides. They are laid out quite differently. The TO guide breaks things down under headings such as 'Sights' and 'Consume' and then into areas whereas the LP guide looks at Neighbourhoods and then puts all the sights and eating etc within that. You can very easily flick through the book when you find yourself in an area and see what's there (the pages are all colour coded making this really simple - and each neighborhood section starts with a little map with all of the things recommended shown on it - which was very useful when you just wanted to see what was nearby that you might not have visited, or fancied some food and wanted to know if you are close to somewhere recommended). It's not as detailed in all areas as the TO guide but covered broadly all the same recommendations/suggestions, but I would definitely recommend this guide because it was really easy to use - its small (which I hadnt realised when I bought it) so fits easily into a pocket and gives you lots of information without overloading you. I would say the TO was good to use to read about the detail of an areas before you got there but the LP was much more useful for handy quick look ups and to get quick references on the area you were in . The DK Top 10 was a bit more lightweight - but that is what I expected. It was a good tick off guide as to whether you had covered the 'Biggies' in an area and had some interesting Top 10s to consider - TT modern buildings, TT markets, TT delights of transport.
