I needed a fan that wasn't too quiet as I use it at night to create a kind of 'white noise' effect to drown out the noise of the planes (I live near a flight path). It's not really noisy but gives a nice hum (I have to turn it up to the highest setting before it's actually loud enough to drown out some planes. Works great for cooling too :)

I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the fan at first, especially with it being a well known brand, but you pay for what you get, as they say. The item came direct from Amazon and could have been better packaged and I was a bit surprised by this, as I would have expected better from Amazon.It says chrome on the product description but it is not ALL chrome, unlike other more expensive fans that are available. So it would have been more helpful if Amazon had put this in the product description. The fan blade cover and circular piece on the stand base are chrome, but the rest of the construction is silver coloured plastic. It was easy to assemble, though the nut and bolt that secure the fan blade cover was a bit awkward to secure as one of the covers was slightly out of shape, but with some slight gentle bending it was soon back in shape and the fan was assembled. The design is contemporary and would look smart in most rooms. The fan is powerful and can be a bit noisy, depending on what speed you select, but the noise is typical of what you get from most four bladed metal fan blades. All in all a nice product with a 3 year warranty included and for price of under £25.00 compared to other companies selling for around £50.00 or more - COOL I'd say!
