Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Honeywell HH200E Ultrasonic Humidifier is a stylish humidifier with sophisticated ultrasonic technology producing a clean cool mist, which provides humidity for the improved well-being of people, pets, plants and furniture.

It is an ideal product to combat dry air, providing both an everyday health benefit and aid in clearing and soothing coughs and colds when they arise.

Dry Air can cause damage to your home and to you. For a person it can cause dry skin, fatigue, tiredness and reduced concentration. It can also be a factor in developing or irritating croup in babies and young children. Many paediatricians would recommend running a humidifier to help ease and relieve symptoms when a child is sick with a cold.

As well as affecting people, dry air can cause damage to furniture, plants and pets, e.g. cracking furniture.

Humidification levels can drop below 25% at home, especially in winter when central heating is being utilised more. Low humidity can cause skin, eye and throat irritation, comfortable humidity levels should be around 45-55%*US Protection Agency website 2008

The Honeywell HH200E Ultrasonic Humidifier can provide moisture to your air with multiple humidity settings to use dependent on your requirements, putting you in control of your environment. Low energy consumption keeps your electricity bill down and silent operation makes this suitable to leave running overnight, or during the day while you are at work, rest or play.

How it works:

Ultrasonic technology uses a metal diaphragm vibrating at ultrasonic frequency to create water droplets that are released into the room.
• Low energy costs
• Ultra Quiet
• Cool visible mist
• No risk of burns ideal for use with children. The Honeywell Ultrasonic Humidifier also comes with 3 years warranty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, 19 Nov 2009
This review is from: Honeywell HH200E Ultrasonic Vase Humidifier (Kitchen & Home)
It's quiet and doesn't disturb sleep when it's on at night, in addition the lighting is dim. It doesn't spend very much water and it's easy to refill. The only problem i had is there was no product info sheet in the pacakage and the plastic edge of the water container looks deformed (with bubbles and crack inside), I think it may be a second hand or a slight faulty product. But these doesn't affect its function, and the humidifier is very easy to operate. Overall It's a good product, an air humidifier as it says.

5.0 out of 5 stars surprisingly effective, 15 Dec 2009

This review is from: Honeywell HH200E Ultrasonic Vase Humidifier (Kitchen & Home)
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a humidifier - but since I get dry skin in winter because the air in the house is very low in humidity I am giving it a go.

As another reviewer mentioned, the bottom of the clear plastic water container has cloudy bubbles in it - this looks to be due to the glue/plastic cement used to fuse the base to the dome part of the container rather than anything else. It doesn't appear to be leaking from the join (and it's not designed to separate).

The humidifier took a little while to fill the chamber with enough water for it to begin working so I would advise giving it 5-10 minutes after you first put the reservoir on before turning it on. When it was running though, it creates an impressive volume of vapour, which comes out in a stream directed by a positionable vent on the top.

I left it running at a medium setting for an hour and closed the room (uk double bedroom size) and returned to find it had raised the humidity by 6% and fogged up all the windows (cold day outside - only a degree or two above freezing). I wasn't expecting that amount of difference, but pleased - it is a sign it may be effective over a larger space with doors between rooms left open, but too early to know if this is the case.

Very quiet in operation, with just the occasional bubble of air entering the tank when the water refills the ultrasonic chamber, and the whisper of what must be a fan in the unit. I will definitely be able to sleep with this in the same room.

The only unknown at this point is whether water may escape from it if I pick the unit up to move it to another room - I'm not sure how well (if at all) the reservoir seals to the base of it. The reservoir can be removed without water being lost (though I would carry it upside down so the valve is at the top). The base does retain the water in the ultrasonic chamber however, and this would be prone to spillage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Humidifier, 10 Jan 2011

Not quite understand the other review about this product being a little noisy as to me compared to the other 2 I tried this is heaven. In fact I use it in my bedroom 2-3 m from where I sleep and I really have to struggle to hear anything, unlike the 'boiling water' type of noise of the other ones. The directional nozzle allows you to accurately control the direction of the steam flow so that to avoid to steam over walls, curtains, etc.

Ultrasonic method is also a great advantage over the warm mist one as with this one I do not have to have the usual hassle of cleaning the scale every few days. Also, the big tank allows to fill it up and use it for 3-4 nights without re-filling (when used at the minimum that is more than enough for an average bedroom). Cold steam also means you do not have problems in where you lay it, again unlike the warm mist types that have the problem of becoming hot.

Perfect buy for me - in fact I am buying another one to replace the warm mist one I use in the living room as I have enough of clearing the scale every other day!
