This is a rare beam of British sunshine in a Hollywood-dominated industry. It is a touching, humourous and audacious film about the lives of three young men struggling to come to terms with their romantic emotions and desires. The script is superbly crafted, performances excellent and the directing sensitive, risk-taking and quite exceptional. So rarely do we see films that are brave enough to tell their stories without the fussiness of a myriad of camera moves and special effects (usually to detract from a barren script and lame acting). Here at last is a movie directed from the heart with a story that is tender, absorbing and at times hilarious. Col Spector is without doubt a hugely underrated British talent.
