Product Description

Review

‘This story has elements of Hitchcock’s Vertigo, and its page-turning quality is in a class of its own’ (Independent )

‘O’Hara and particularly Nora stand as two of Patterson’s most complex characters yet' (Publishers Weekly )

Product Description

When FBI agent John O’Hara first meets Nora Sinclair, she seems perfect. She has the career. The charisma. The tantalising sex appeal. The whole extraordinary package – Nora doesn’t attract men, she enthrals them. She’s worked hard for this life and she will never give it up.

But why is the FBI so interested in Miss Sinclair? Mysterious things keep happening to the men in her life. And when Agent O’Hara looks more closely he sees something dangerous in Nora – something that lures him at the same time as it fills him with fear. And the more time he spends with her the less he knows whether he is pursuing justice or his own fatal obsession.

With the irresistible attraction of the greatest Hitchcock thrillers, HONEYMOON is a sizzling, twisting tale of a woman with a deadly appetite and the men who dare to fall for her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, surprising and accessible to all., 5 Feb 2006

Maybe at times the plot is not 100% credible, but one thing is sure: this book is full of unexpected twists and a degree of mystery and suspense that will make you not want to put it down until you finished it. If you love detective stories, this is one you must read.

One thing I find annoying in some novels is the overwhelming amount of characters and the confusing way they are introduced into the story.
Often I had to slide a sheet of paper in the book and write down who is who, in order to keep track of the characters as the story evolved.

Not with this one here…with a limited amount of characters, the author manages to keep it exciting, surprising and accessible to all. A must!

1.0 out of 5 stars Really disappointing, 27 May 2006

Every time I buy a James Patterson book I do so hoping that he's gotten some of that old flair back and I'll love it. This didn't happen with Honeymoon and I've decided that I've given him the benefit of the doubt one too many times now and Honeymoon will be my last James Patterson purchase.

The story centers around a woman named Nora Sinclair who's being investigated by the FBI (although she doesn't know that) because her husband/fiancés keep dying in the same way. In an effort to see if she's the quintessential `Black Widow' or just really unlucky with men the FBI send in John O'Hara to pose as Craig Reynolds, Insurance guy with a life-insurance policy from Nora's latest dead fiancé leaving her $1.9m better off.

While the story itself wasn't a bad idea the execution just didn't live up. The characters weren't developed enough to have a real insight into them and the only one we really got to know was the baddy and you come away liking her. The good-looking guy falling for the beautiful woman was just such a cliché! And the ending......that was seriously the worst ending ever. As somebody else mentioned the letter from Nora's Mum was never explained and I was left wondering if I'd missed a chapter! I also felt that the whole deal about the Tourist was pointless and unnecessary. All in all this was a seriously below par book and has signed my `adios' to James Patterson.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting , 19 May 2006

I have to say I think that some on James Pattersons recent books have left me dissappointed.
But this was really interesting, I enjoyed plot and became really caught up in the story, But the ending was abit of an anticlimax and there were a couple of things that never got closure. Such as a letter mentioned when the FBI go to see Nora's mother which apparently seems very important but never gets mentioned again!!
All in all it was generally a good read. Maybe the lack of ending was left for a sequel?

There seems to be considerable amount of negative comments written about this book. For me I found it a gripping, fast paced book and would make a great black comedy movie. Read more
