I have been involved with Friends of the Earth's Bee Cause Campaign and find this book really helpful. It's a visual treat for children, with a little Honey bee to take on a journey, it is very well illustrated and has excellent information for young children about the work that bees do. The only negative is that the poppy flower she goes to is red, and everything I read tells me Bees don't much like red but prefer Purple and Blue, a very small niggle, but accuracy at this stage would have been helpful visually and associatively for the children. All in all, I do absolutely love this book and also Bee and Me
as have the children, (and parents/teachers) I have read these books to at our local Library Toddler Tales, and at local schools. Both are fabulous resources for finding out about the importance of bees and how to help them.
