About the Author
Tim Couzens qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1980 and studied homeopathy at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital in Great Ormond Street, London gaining his VetMFHom in 1991. In 1995 he established the Holistic Veterinary Medicine Centre, a dedicated referral practice specialising in homeopathy, herbal and nutraceutical medicine, acupuncture, flower remedies and diet. Tim has appeared on television, has regularly contributed to magazine articles on alternative medicine and is advisor to several companies involved in alternative health products for pets.

As a first year homeopathic student and horse owner I found this book was pitched very well at those with differing levels of knowledge about homeopathy. It is very clear about seeking further advice if you are not sure. It is the best homeopathic book for horses I have seen. I also own the George Macleod book which is much less detailed. It has covered everything I have needed to refer to and helped my remedy choice enormously. Many animal homeopathy books rely on symptom diagnosis only, this one refers to constitutional remedy pictures too which allows for a much more informed and hopefully correct remedy choice.

I bought this book for my daughter-in-law who is mad about horses, she and my grandaughter have five between them. Jane was really excited when she opened it and she started reading it straight away. I know absolutely nothing about horses;they are far too big for comfort as far as I am concerned;but Jane tells me that it is a superb reference book with lots of unexpected tips, remedies and advice, and that she has actually used some of the remedies very successfully.

I had some knowledge of homeopathy before I bought this book, but I have a whole lot more now! This book is fantastic - it is clear, detailed and very helpful. Everything is laid out really well and it tells you in easy language how to treat horses consitutionally and symptomatically. It is sensible and down to earth and explains the differences between conventional veterinary medicine and homeopathy so that owners can make informed choices.
