That's the kind of books I love. It is the fullest, richest, and heart breaking compilation of recipies I ever read. Why heart breaking? Because fruit in the UK (supermarkets stock) is so expensive, sold in small quantities, with poor quality, no smell and no taste, hard and lifeless. Black or red currants, gooseberry, some kinds od pumpkins are not possible to be bought at all, even in a bloom of a season.
I have a book about relishes and chutneys where author says clearly that gooseberry is completely uneatable and that why is skipped in recipies...
THIS book contains all possible (I guess) precipices for preserving of all that grows. If only having a good source of fresh produce, this book is like a bible and can be the last book about preserving you will ever need.
I made two chutneys, apple jelly, orange jelly and pears... all came out perfect and unbeatable comparing to supermarket products.
