Parents don't despair! 5 July 2010

Such a helpful, easy to read book (with index!) to help new parents wanting to be eco-friendly and uncommercialised. So much is common sense, but people need encouragement to become more confident about child-rearing, and to be happy. And so important to involve dads! Stimulating for the imagination and recalling one's own childhood.

Top tips for new and not-so-new parents! 12 July 2010

As a mother of 2, with some eco and frugal tendencies!, I thought this book wouldn't have much to tell me I didn't already know. How wrong can you be!

This is packed with practical ideas, and some lovely case studies, that show you it really is very easy - and satisfying - to bring kids up without costing the earth. Particularly useful in these difficult times when parents have to juggle so much, and have less money to spend.

Very interesting to see how other parents do things - especially if you're nosey like me - tips for getting kids into healthy eating, creative play without loads of plastic toys, enjoying wildlife etc. And useful stuff on getting new baby 'kit' - what you really need, and how to avoid unnecessary expense.

I found it very easy to read, and came away with lots of ideas to try.
