I remember buying a few copies of Homeground quite a few years ago now. In the pre Google days the fan magazine was one of the life lines for starving fans like myself. We were always waiting for Kate. Waiting for albums and longing for her to play live again so we could at least have a chance of being in her presence and hearing her sing and play her fabulous songs and music. While we waited we could at least read about her here. Homeground was a well made fanzine that packed in many good articles, poems and images written and contributed by fans. I bought Anthology One; this volume is full of articles written at the time of the first releases of Kate's albums and other works and so this is a great document as well as a lovely book to delve into and pull out little golden nuggets of information while listening to Kate's aural art works.

The fanzine was about the size of the book so I think the two volumes must form a complete facsimile archive. It is a fabulous treasure chest of information and memory refreshment. Oh I was so totally amazed when I listened to the albums covered in Anthology One especially Never Forever, The Dreaming and Hounds of Love. I was probably a bit obsessed for a period and Homeground was a great sanctuary. I grew older and mellower while waiting for Kate and gently gave up on her ever performing live again. I was just glad she was still producing an album now and then. Well, I'll be seeing her at Hammersmith later this year and I've bought this Anthology One so that I can go back in time and remember those days of amazement, longing and wonderment. Highly recommended.

Two main reasons why this is an essential book for any Kate Bush fans: Firstly, this must be the most detailed account of the career of Kate Bush, so fans who enjoy details like release dates, chart positions, what the music press said etc will be happy and secondly. it details how Kate's music has touched so many lives and brought people together. it is not a gossipy invasion of privacy, Homeground have always been respectful of Kate's private life and in doing so have earned Kate's trust so that they were given the task of organising official conventions, all of which Kate attended. (and detailed here). These books are a lovingly compiled collection of articles detailing every part of Kate's unique career and how her music has developed over the years along with how we, the fans, have changed and grown whilst also remaining staunch supporters of her incredible craft and talent. It is a true celebration of the career of arguably the most inspiration British female artist of all time.

This book is what a fan of an artist longs for... full of facts and intricate details, it's incredible!

- I especially loved the sections about the early 'Cathy' demos and The Tour Of Life 79 (especially with the upcoming shows!)

HomeGround was the longest running Kate Bush fanzine. Fanzines. Remember those? Labours of love, usually flash-in-the-pan hand-typed and glued, gone in no time. HomeGround lasted and lasted. It became the unofficial-official source for all things Kate-related before the days of the Internet. This two-volume anthology chronicles Kate's career, and her fans' response to her work. The editors and publisher have captured the spirit of the fanzine movement and Kate's work beautifully. You can almost smell the glue. A must-have.
