Trivia.
1)This is written & produced by action legend Sylvester Stallone.
2)James Franco appeared as Harry Osborn in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy.
3)Kate Bosworth played Lois Lane in Superman Returns.
4)This was at one stage a script treatment for a possible Fifth Rambo movie.
5)This was intende6d as a starring vehicle for Stallone but he felt the character needed to be played by a younger actor & rewrote the screenplay to accommodate his friend Jason Statham.

Synopsis.
Former DEA agent Phil Broker quits his job after a incident with a biker gang goes wrong that ends in the tragic death of the gang leaders son during the conflict, Broker who's recently widowed leaves to find solace in a small town with his 9 year old daughter Maddy.

When his daughter fights off a local bully this event set's in motion a chain of event's which lead up to a confrontation with the towns local Meth druglord Gator Bodine.

To make matters more complex Phil's past with the biker gang enters the arena as Phil discovers the corrupt violent dodgy drug dealings that Bodine is forcing upon the town & now Phil must protect his daughter Maddy & the townsfolk using any means necessary againt Bodine & his old enemies criminal empire.

Timelord Thoughts.
This is your typical old school 80's action movie & thankfully the majority of the movie's pretty solid action fare that delivers some great kick ass fight scenes for Jason Statham to get his action chops into.

Phil Broker (Jason Statham) is a former NARC who must now lay low due to getting the son of a crime boss killed. He is living in Louisiana which allows them to use a better soundtrack and crazy characters. His wife has passed on, he has a daughter Maddy (Izabela Vidovic) and a wanna be formulaic relationship with school counselor Susan Hatch(Rachelle Lefevre). He draws attention to himself while trying to live with a low profile, attention that endangers the life of both him and his daughter.

As art imitates life, James Franco plays the crazy bad guy and Winona Ryder his trashy girlfriend.

This is one of the better Statham films I have seen. It includes the usual tough guy talk, fighting, killings, chase scenes, and explosions. It also includes a colorful support cast with Kate Bosworth and Marcus Hester as realistic people. Bosworth was a pistol.

Worth seeing for fans of action films.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, garage sex, no nudity. Deals with meth manufacture and use.

A DEA agent (Statham) goes into hiding after being involved in the killing of a Hell's Angels gang leader's son. He winds up in a town populated by rednecks with short fuses, the sort of people who could pick a fight in an empty room. He falls out with a redneck couple, whose brother (James Franco) is enlisted to exact retribution on the agent. Statham is his usual laconic and stoic self, perhaps with more dialogue than he normally gets, and he exhibits more thought and brooding introspection than his characters are normally allowed. The child actor playing his daughter gives a spirited performance and stands out in each scene when she appears. Although I'm a fan of James Franco, I think that he is somewhat miscast in the role of a redneck wannabe big-time drug dealer, somebody like Joaquin Phoenix would have been much better suited to the role. That said, Franco does his best and doesn't sink the film, but he is too likeable to really convince as a hoodlum. In the early part of the film Franco's character is built up to be a hard as nails badass, making one think that the film will culminate in a big showdown between Statham and Franco. In fact, when the two come face to face at the end, the result is disappointingly anti-climactic. Even so, this is an enjoyable movie, not up there with Transporter or Crank, but perfectly competent.

I'm a statham fan and have seen most if not all of him movies but to me this is one of his best. You can guess what type of movies it's gonna be because they are all very similar but this stands out from the rest. Even though the story isn't new it still feels slightly different from his others as the acting was better and the whole film had a more realistic and serious note to it without the cheesy parts that usually hog statham movies ( which I like)!! Overall a great movie with plenty of tension and action.

Well, with 'Sylvester Stallone' being involved in the films production and screenplay and
with 'Jason Statham' in the lead role.....there really is only one way the film can go.........
Former 'Drugs Enforcement Officer' 'Phil Broker's last job was to work undercover to
bring down the drug-dealing biker gang 'The Outcasts'
Two years have past, 'Phil' having lost his wife has sought to build a new life with daughter
'Maddy' away from the city in a seemingly sleepy backwater town.
Trouble seems to follow 'Broker' (Jason Statham) as one or two of the local rough-necks
chance their arm with the former 'agent'
Having worked in the fight against drugs 'Broker' recognises the signs that a drug operation
appears to be triving in the sleepy town.
'Kingpin' 'Gator Brodie' (James Franco) becomes wary of 'Broker' so much so he breaks into
their home find out who this guy is or was.
He finds out plenty from paperwork the ex-enforcement officer has kept and sends his lady
ex-biker 'moll' 'Sheryl' to the city to find those that have reason to get even with 'Broker'
'Gator' has put 'Broker' and daughter 'Maddy' in danger, the ex-agent now has to defend
the security of both himself and more importantly daughter 'Maddy.
A must for 'Jason Statham' fans, with several typical action sequences from 'Statham' leading
up to and explosive and action-packed finally.
Good Picture and Sound Quality Throughout.
Well worth a spin.
Special Features :-
* Standoff featurette.
* Gator featurette.
* Deleted Scenes.
