this was his last recording, a solo concert in his home town. Beautiful versions of all his great songs, sung with his remarkable phrasing and maturity in which much of his early material is viewed in a different light . His relaxed manner with the audience and the accomplished readings of his songs make it all the more sad to note what followed. By now he weighed nearly 15 stone and he was going bald, the drink and drugs having taken their toll. To me, Tim Hardin was a wonderful vocalist, incorporating varied styles into his voice. He was the best interpreter of his own songs and he had an immense skill of taking other people's songs and personalising them into the myths that his character had become. There are few singers of any generation who are capable of singing of the pain of love (for wife and family) in a way that is so expressive and so wrenchingly beautiful.

Recorded years after his early outstanding albums I found this a very moving experience. Years of alcohol and drug abuse led to ridiculously slurred and trivial patter beteween songs. Then much to my surprise note and word perfect versions of his best songs, with excellent solo guitar and piano playing.

Sad to relate this was recorded soon before he died. Afitting tribute to a great singer songwriter who completely lost it after his first three albums
