Product Description

Imagine a pair of 900-pound horses photographed in a furnished, carpeted house unpacking their suitcases. Meet Romeo & Juliet, two real horses who talk, laugh, stick out their tongues, smile and eat cake with a fork. By following their hearts, they escape their mundane, barnyard lives and find friendship, fun and home sweet home. Home Sweet Home with Romeo & Juliet is a motivational tale about two horses who create their own reality by setting goals and having fun along the way. When they encounter an obstacle, like not having cake for breakfast, serendipity takes over through their five-pound neighbor, Cheeka the Chihuahua. Children giggle with delight as they see charming photographs of two real horses living in a house and eating cake with a tiny dog. Teachers appreciate the variety of discussion topics covered in the story, like moving to a new house, getting ready for bed and making new friends.

A Fun Book Your Kids Will Love 9 Jan 2007
By S. Petrofsky - Published on Amazon.com
Romeo and Juliet first gained fame as painters...yes, these painting horses have decided not only are they artists but the stars of their own book. Kids will love the photos as the horses decide to move from barn to the house, and the book chronicles their adventure along the way. Cheryl Ward has a great writing style, and has produced a book that is well written and illustrated, and great for out-loud story hour also. As a Library Tech, I heartily recommend this fun book for beginning readers. Cheryl is currently working with a third unwanted-rescue horse - also teaching him to paint. [...].

This is a very enjoyable book, especially for children who love horses. The words are understandable and the pictures are great. I shared it with a group of preschoolers.
Romeo & Juliet sparkle in Home Sweet Home 7 Dec 2008
By ReadRight - Published on Amazon.com
This is such a great make-believe story starring two very real horses -- who needs cartoon characters when Cheryl & Sam can do such a great job with a little twist on real life! This book will spark the imagination of children at the same time it broadens all our minds to realize there is always much more to our animal friends than we may first realize! Thanks for a great story Cheryl - I can't wait to see what you do next!
