From the Publisher

All you need to know for your redo!
Whether you're looking to add on a master suite, redo the kitchen or just put in a new bathroom sink, you should take several money-saving and time-saving steps to make your dream home a reality; the first step being picking up a copy of HOME REMODELING FOR DUMMIES by the popular Carey Brothers, famous for the "On the House" syndicated radio and newspaper column.

In HOME REMODELING FOR DUMMIES the award-winning, licensed contractor authors share 40 combined years of experience, with indispensable tips for readers. With easy to follow guidelines and practical advice, the dynamic duo takes the anxiety out of remodeling, making your home project fun and fulfilling rather than costly and scary. With hilarious Rich Tenant cartoons, a complete index, eye-catching icons, and a handy tear-out cheat sheet ("Health and Safety Items," "The Building Inspector's List"), HOME REMODELING FOR DUMMIES is the perfect reference for every Tim Allan wannabe!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Carey Brothers' book was the VERY BEST on the subject!!, 4 Jan 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Home Remodeling for Dummies (Paperback)
Morris and James Carey saved my sanity, my wallet, and quite possibly my marriage with their book "Home Remodeling for Dummies"! There are very few things in life more stressful than a remodel, but this book helped me put the stress where it belonged- on everyone else! I learned how to plan the addition for my twins room from concept to sunset, and I learned how to deal with a contractor and a budget. Keeping both of those on the same path as our vision of our remodel was a feat I wouldn't have been able to accomplish without the advice from this book. I never would have even attempted this project without the encouragement and confidence I gained from reading it- thus the "5 STAR" recomendation I give "Home Remodeling for Dummies".

1.0 out of 5 stars Authors / Title are deceptive, 10 Oct 2001
By allen rose - Published on Amazon.com

THANKS FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!! Book claims in the description to have loads of charts and step by step instructions for remodeling .
Personally i do not consider an example of a contract to be an example.

Like in the section about replacing windows, now there is where a diagram is needed.
Yes i may have been a sucker for buying the book, but the dummies are definitely the authors !!!!
