Product Description

Review

Wire and metalwork is currently a very popular craft and there is an array of books on the subject, each offering their own inspirational ideas. Here, American Jana Ewy offers her metalcraft designs, several with a cross-Atlantic twist, in a well laid-out, easy to understand book. Fully illustrated with colour photographs showing both the finished project and step-by-step instructions, this is a colourful insight into how metalcraft can enhance your home and garden. Candle holders, place mats and trinket boxes offer personal touches for presents or ornaments while ladybugs, pet stakes and dragonflies can enhance your garden and give it extra interest. From simple wire mesh to embellished sheets of metal, bead and wirework, aging and distressing, the techniques are clearly and simply explained, making this an ideal guide for both novices and the more practiced craftsperson alike. - Lucy Watson

Product Description

This book is for crafters who want to discover new and exciting metal craft techniques to create stylish accessories for the home and garden or to give as gifts. Metal crafts has been a fashionable area for quite some time, but this is the first book that features new metal products combined with other popular craft materials, such as paper, beads, rubber stamps and glass paint. The 28 step-by-step projects include things such as a diary cover, greeting cards, hanging lanterns, garden signs and picture frames. Crafters who like to work with wire and other metals, crafters into jewellery, rubber stamping and garden crafts, or crafts in general will find much appeal in this book.

Good Crafting! 20 Feb 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I saw this book and picked it up imediately. It has lots of craft ideas that aren't too terribly hard to do. Many of them can be done in just hours and some look incredible. My favorite idea from the book was a wire garland with lights. Incredible in gold and makes an awesome addition to any party. Other good ideas were candle holders, vase, and plant sticks(some whimsical. Lots of pictures shown in each step as well as the layout of certain wire twisting and paper folding.

Geared more towards casual crafters, not for metalsmithing 25 Jan 2008
By K. Crist - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Most of the projects are very simple and easy to create, however, the projects rely heavily on the use of foils, mesh, and wire, and do not really introduce the reader to most of the materials, tools and methods of metalworking. It is more of a weekend crafter type book which is fine if that is what you are looking for, but from the title and the description I thought it would be geared more towards metalsmithing. Because of this I found it dissapointing and not very useful.

Home and Garden Metal craft 1 Feb 2007
By Donald R. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The book explains some basic crafts with good detail. It did not fill my needs for metal working, but my wife loved the projects amd sent them out as Christmas gifts. The book detailed some attractive projects with instructions for the beginner.
