These brew buckets are definitely made to make things easy for the homebrewer. They look good, the tap makes it easy to fill bottles or a barrel with no mess or disturbance of the sediment and the thermometer is very useful, of course. You could get a slightly cheaper brew bucket but when you consider how long these things last, why bother?
My next brew is Santa's Winter Warmer - there's nothing wrong with a bit of planning!

Cheers!

This item was supposedly everything I wanted in a fermentation bucket, compact size, bottling tap, hole for airlock in lid - which all seemed reasonable for the price. However the lid itself is flimsy and does not seal properly, thus making the airlock useless.

If you don't usually use an airlock for your brews, then it may be ok for you as the lid will allow co2 to escape, but if like me you prefer airlocks i would avoid this item.

Fantastic!. Bought this to make alkaline water when my alka jug filter stopped working. Now i just suspend two lots of alka filters in the bucket of cleaned water and hey presto! I get more ph rich water than ever. No plastic taste and no leaching just great tasting soft water. The cover is airtight which is a bonus as the ph of alkaline water lessens in contact with air over time. I am very pleased with my purchase

Needed a second fermenter for wine for syphoning after deciding to make a large batch of Merlot, this works great with the air lock, bottle filling tape and can use it for my beer too.

The tub arrived with a number of white 'scores' in the plastic.

Not sure if it was the thin cardboard box it was transported in or it was damaged before it was dispatched.

Hopefully that won't affect it's lifespan.

The lid feels a bit flimsy. On reflection I probably a mistake I should have spend a bit more on a wide neck fermented with a tap.

Still it gets some use as 'swing space' when racking off other fermenters.

Everything fits and is water tight and most of my brewing mates have the same or similar and are using them continuously.

Excellent for raking wine but not very good for fermentation as the airlock does not work as gas escapes through the lid. I purchased the complete kit which this was part of. The tap works very well however you may want to test this for leaks with water before you put your pressures wine in it!

Well whilst I would suggest reviewing a bucket is akin to trainspotting I can say this bucket is a prime example and will be very useful when I make my wine later on.
